Biography of Author

Dr. Daiqing Yuan

Dr. Daiqing Yuan (pronounced "di–ching you–won", meaning "a green tree on a high mountain (Mt. Tai in eastern China, where emperors worshiped "heaven"/God), Son of the maker of the great Ark (Noah)" was born and grew up in Beijing, China and was taught under the Communist educational system. From youth he desired to seek for the truth, and was not satisfied with literature, history, philosophy, natural and social sciences, until he read the Bible and was found by God.

Dr. Yuan studied physics at Peking University (B.S., M.S. 1987) and the University of North Texas (M.S., Ph.D. 1996), where he became a Christian in 1990. After being discipled by Denton Bible Church and Campus Crusade for Christ, he served as a missionary and pastor for thirteen years before becoming the senior pastor of Abilene Bible Church. He studies at Dallas Theological Seminary (Th.M. 2006), majoring in Bible exposition and pastoral ministry. He is married to his high–school best friend Xiaofeng (Rose) and they have four daughters.

Dr. Yuan loves to study the Bible and teach it in its historical context, with the Old Testament and the new Testament linked together. He specializes in Biblical chronology and apologetics. He calls himself theologically fundamental, evangelical, Calvinist, dispensational, and non–Charismatic. He is committed to be a disciple of Christ, and works to make more disciples for Him. He suggests two mottoes for Abilene Bible Church: "Teach His Word; Love Our Neighbor."
